Come on in! Have a look around… we hope you like what you see!

It may seem a little odd and antiquated to have a “welcome” message on a website in 2010… after all, the Web has been around for a while and people generally have some idea of what it’s all about and how it works.

However, we’re trying to take a slightly different approach with this…

Our goal is to use social media (Facebook, Twitter and this site, plus potential future applications) as a multi-channel approach to reaching our customers – past, present and future – and engaging in meaningful dialogue with them.

It also becomes a great way to keep people posted on what we’re working on, where various guitars are in the production process, and so on. It will be a slow process at first, but as we get up to speed, having this framework in place will make the ongoing maintenance and updates much easier.

Here’s the plan: As we start work on an instrument, it will get its own blog entry. That post then becomes the “buildstory” and documentation of that instrument’s journey into a player’s hands. As the build progresses, new photos and documentation will be added to that instrument’s post. This gives every instrument an entry in our database right from the get-go. Hopefully this approach makes sense and we can continue to follow through and keep it updated.

You’ll also see our Twitter feed in the right column. Follow us on Twitter to get unique insight into what we’re doing, what we’re thinking, what we’re working on, and the status of builds in progress. We plan on being totally transparent.

Our hope is that this kind of transparency gives people a greater appreciation for the process – the time, the energy, the skill, passion and commitment – that goes into each instrument we build, but also gives them a sense of being connected with us, with the instruments, with the greater community.

Tell us what you think! Does this approach make sense? Is there anything else you’d like to see on the site? We’re not sure we’ve seen anything quite like this done in the musical instrument space, and we hope to be able to break new ground with our customer experience.
